In this compilation of lectures by Watts, the man who introduced millions of Western readers to Zen and other Eastern philosophies, we once again hear the call to reevaluate Western culture's constructs and to open our minds to other possibilities. In interpreting Eastern philosophies for Western audiences, Watts questions the value of a divine patriarch and of monarchial religions. He also discusses the nature of reality and the impact of an individual's relationship with society on reality. Annotation 2007 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
