The Little Prince : A new translation by Michael Morpurgo

A pilot crashes in the desert, and a boy from the stars asks him to draw a sheep. A NEW TRANSLATION BY MICHAEL MORPURGO, AUTHOR OF WAR HORSE The pilot is alone in the Sahara Desert, trying to mend his broken aircraft, when a small golden-haired boy appears beside him with an extraordinary request. He is the Little Prince. He has come from a tiny planet among the stars, where he once tended three volcanoes and cared for a rose who was proud, delicate and difficult to understand. Since leaving her behind, he has travelled from world to world, meeting kings, businessmen, lamplighters, geographers and other peculiar grown-ups, before arriving on Earth. There he meets a fox, who teaches him that love is made through patience, attention and responsibility, and that the most important things are not always visible. In Michael Morpurgo’s new translation, The Little Prince remains a classic philosophical fable for children and adults: a story about friendship, imagination, loneliness and the ties that make one person, one flower or one star matter more than all the others.
